Happy Mother's Day - Colour Challenge Global Design Project #gdp033 & #tgifc52

| on
20:08

Today I have for you my creation for the Global Design Project 'Colour Challenge' #gdp033 and TGIF Challenges 'Mothers Day' #tgifc52. 'Happy 1st Birthday TGIF!!!' And what a gorgeous trio of colours the GDP Designer Team have for us!

I enjoy a Colour Challenge, and I am extra happy when there is a Neutral in the mix. Although these colours are quite masculine, I have Challenged myself to make Mothers' Day cards using this weeks colours.
We celebrate Mother's Day in Australia Sunday 8th May, so I will have plenty of time to create and post my finished cards.
My creations... Using the 'Circle of Spring' stampset.
I also made a matching 'Curvy Keepsake Gift Box'. To create my own background, I stamped the flower image using 'Sahara Sand Inkpad' all over the 'Sahara Sand & Very Vanilla' cardstock after die cutting.

A close up of the Curvy Keepsake Gift Box. I really love how the tiny flower tag turned out! It's the cutest!!!

The wreath has been embossed using gold embossing powder. Such beautiful detail on the Sahara Sand cardstock. I splattered 'Gold Wink of Stella' over the card adding some extra sparkle.

The 'Sahara Sand Lace Trim' & 'Calyspo Coral Seam Binding Ribbon' (soon to be retired and on 'Low Inventory') look pretty together. The sentiment is stamped in 'Night of Navy' and is surrounded by watercolour flowers. And not forgetting the added bling of the 'Gold Glimmer' to the centre of the flowers.

Thankyou for being here. I truly appreciate you reading this far, and most of all I hope to have inspired you to create your own Mother's Day cards, or Birthday cards or whatever the Occasion cards. There is plenty of time to join in on these fun Challenge, and you can click here for all the details for the GDP Colour Challenge, and here for the TGIF Mother's Day Challenge.
Happy days are creative days. D x

For You - Case the Designer Challenge #gdp032

| on
11:59
It's 'Case the Designer' Challenge for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp032, and we are 'CASEing' (Copy And Selectively Edit) the amazing Krista Frattin. Oh my this girl is so clever. And she is a Member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. And I love, love, love her creations!
This is my take on Krista's gorgeous card:
I have kept with the Layout of Krista's card and part thereof the Colours, however I have used Gold instead of Silver accents, and a different stampset.
I stamped the flower image using 'Versamark' onto 'Vellum cardstock', and embossed the image using Gold embossing powder. I turned over my embossed image and coloured the underside of the flower using 'Stampin' Write Markers' in Blushing Bride,
In this photo you can see the glimmer of the 'Clear Wink of Stella' I applied to the Blushing Bride stripes on the 'Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper'. Sooooooo pretty.

Some machine stitching adds some lovely dimension to my card, and to finish with a teeny Gold Metallic bow attached to the sentiment.

Thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog, and I hope to have inspired you with my creation, thanks to Krista!
Have a fabulous day. D x

'Celebrate Today' - Global Design Project Theme Challenge #gdp031

| on
10:30
Today is a creation for the Global Design Project 'Theme' Challenge: 'Nature' #gdp031.
I have used the 'Botanical Blooms Bundle' to make my creation for this week. 'Botanical Blooms' sounds like 'Nature' to me:
A 3" x 3" notecard, that I made as a swap for 'OnStage 2016' in Sydney. This little 'Celebrate Today' notecard is a perfect card to slip into a Project Life® for Stampin' Up! photo pocket, and a cute Memory Keeping moment for those who I swapped with at 'OnStage 2016'.
I enjoyed making these notecards and you can make 16 card fronts from 1 sheet of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.
You may have seen something similar that I made for the Creation Station Blog Hop; click here to see it.

Thankyou for popping by and visiting my blog. All I hope is to have inspired you with my creation and I appreciate a comment if you leave me one. Have a fabulous day!

Swaps #OnStage2016

| on
08:43
It's 'OnStage 2016', and we are in Sydney for what is an exciting time for us Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. We are at the Hilton Sydney and it is the epicentre of excitement as we await the NEW Annual Catalogue 2016-2017, and to see and play with NEW products!!! We are catching up with Demonstrators from all over Australia, and the atmosphere is palpable. It's unreal.
(And before you get too excited, I can't show you anything of the Catalogue just yet... it's all underwraps until I can show you the front cover on Tuesday 19th April.)
When we attend Stampin' Up! Events, we can make 'swaps' to share with our fellow Demonstrators. A 'swap' is a creation made using items from current Catalogues and allows us to share our creativity and enjoy the creativity of other stampers.
These are my creations:
'Follow Your Heart' 3" x 3" notecards.
I made these to fit inside Project Life® for Stampin' Up! photo pockets, and maybe they can be a Memory Keeping idea for those I am sharing with for 'On Stage 2016'?
Click here to learn more about Project Life® Memory Keeping - it is a simple system for organising your photos into albums using albums, photo pocket pages, card collections and accessory packs, stamps, tools and more.
'Celebrate Today' 3" x 3" notecards.
Another notecard using the 'Botanical Blooms Bundle' & 'Enjoy the Little Things' stampset. Again, this notecard is able to be used as a Project Life® card for a photo pocket.
I have submitted this creation into the Global Design Project Theme Challenge: 'Nature' #gdp031. You can see it here.
A snapshot of what I had in mind for my cards... sitting inside 3" x 4" photo pockets next to the Project Recipe I typed out.

I even branded the back of my swaps using the 'Alphabet Rotary Stamp' - 'It's the best stamp since sliced bread', especially when you want to make your own sentiment, or personalise a creation.

Thankyou for visiting. Stay tuned for bits & pieces from 'OnStage 2016', and I look forward to hearing from you.
Happy Stamping! D x

'Love' - Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight

| on
18:30
I have joined the fabulous Kylie Bertucci and her International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight. The theme for this Blog Highlight is 'Love'.
I adore these Blog Highlights that Kylie has organised, and it's a fabulous opportunity to rub shoulders with some amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators world wide. Just quietly; I am rubbing shoulders with an amazing Artisan Design Team Member - go and see!!! Click onto the banner below to be taken to Kylie's blog and make sure you vote for me!
(Hint, hint! I am number 18. Denita Wright)
http://www.craftykylie.com/2016/04/international-blog-highlight-theme-love.html
I have created a box of 'Love' - and a treat filled gift for Mother's Day (in May). Decorated with the gorgeous 'Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Die' and filled with chocolate hearts... No stamping required for this little love sensation.
I started out with the 'Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Die' in Crumb Cake cardstock - I cut 2 hearts and adhered them together. Using the 'Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker' I doodled around the intricate patterns of the heart, then daubed the edges in Crumb Cake ink. This was the start of my creation, and I wasn't sure whether to make a card or not at this stage?
The 'Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit' was nearby, and the divine 'Blushing Bride' Satin Ribbon was wanting some attention.
How-amazing-does-this-bow-look? I am in love with this ribbon, and it sits so pretty on the side of the box. And not forgetting the enamel glitter dots sitting on the flowers. I have a new appreciation for pink!

made the box using the 'Envelope Punch Board'. I know, I know. A box from the Envelope Punch Board, you ask? Yes, it's true.
The 'Box Buster' is an epic tutorial for making boxes using the 'Envelope Punch Board' by Joanne James aka 'The Crafty Owl'. Click here for Joanne's instructions.
My box measures 3 1/2" x 5" x 1 1/2" - the dimensions are larger than the Punch Board and I used a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock to get my initial starting point.
Cardstock: 9" x 9"
First punch: 4"
Second punch: 6 1/8"

Thankyou so much for taking the time to visit my blog, and thankyou Kylie for the opportunity to be featured on your blog. This was so much fun, I will see you for the next International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight.

Party Wishes - Sketch Challenge #gdp030 and TGIF#49 Colour Challenge

| on
07:11
This week I have entered into 2 Challenges.
I have combined the Global Design Project 'Sketch Challenge' #gdp030,
and TGIFC#49 'Colour Challenge' using Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral & Bermuda Bay.

Put them together and what have I got?....

A 'Party Wishes' watercolour Birthday card! I changed the sketch by having my card Landscape - to fit the Birthday cake image and the 'Celebrate' sentiment.
I coloured the Birthday cake stamp using Stampin' Write Markers in the Challenge Colours. I spritzed water onto the stamp and pressed the image onto Watercolour paper. After the image was dry, I edged the Birthday cake stamp using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker and stamped over the top of the Watercolour Birthday cake.
The 'Whisper White' banner has been embossed using the 'Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder', sitting on top of a strip of 'Bermuda Bay' cardstock. I love the mini banners! I stamped a couple of Birthday cakes onto the Watercolour paper and chose the better of the 2 for the image on my card. The other cake was used for my banners, and I am so happy with how they turned out.

Thankyou so much for visiting my blog. I loved playing along to the 2 Challenges this week, and maybe you can get your craft on and join in too? Have a wonderful day. D x

Creation Station Blog Hop 'Botanical Blooms'

| on
00:00
Welcome to my blog and to another 'Creation Station Blog Hop' for the month of April.
You have possibly hopped to me from Elizabeth's blog or back from Nicole, and there are some incredible projects to be seen... I know I am inspired by the creations from the Design Team and this months theme using the 'Botanical Blooms Bundle'.

I have made a few little notecards using the Bundle. You get the Stamp Set, Framelits Dies & Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper as a Bundle & Save 15%. That's 3 items! Bargain!!!
You can make 8 notecards from 1 sheet of Kraft 12" x 12" cardstock.
These are the dimensions for my notecards:
Kraft Cardstock cardbase measures 6" x 3" (score at 3") or 15.2cm x 7.6cm (score at 7.6cm).
Hello Honey cardstock mat measures 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" or 7.3cm x 7.3cm
Botanical Gardens DSP is 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" or 7cm x 7cm
4 little notecards all prettied up with some 'Burlap Ribbon' and the sweet 'Botanical Garden Jewels' in the centre of the flower. Sweet & simple.

I went a little outside the square and have created a couple of 3D items. Using the 'Botanical Blooms' Stamp set and 'Botanical Builder Framelits Dies', I have made a mini terrarium.
I layered the bottom of the terrarium using 'Cucumber Crush' cardstock for the moss. I then scrunched up tiny balls of  'White Filter Paper', 'Sahara Sand' cardstock & 'Smoky Slate' cardstock to make some pebbles. And a circle of 'Early Espresso' cardstock to represent the soil.
I started with a strip of cardstock approx 1cm x 15cm and made a circle to start my mini garden of jungle leaves. I layered and layered until my garden was complete. The teeny butterflies are from the SAB 'Flowering Fields' stampset which retired a few days ago - they are the perfect size to flutter within the terrarium and add such a beautiful pop of colour.

And a wee little *Kokedama - made using a golf ball and wrapping twine around the tiny ball. I was inspired by my friends who make Kokedama and click here to visit their Instagram page.
*The Kokedama is actually a form of Bonsai. The plant, usually a fern, tree, or succulent, is grown to a small size, and then, along with the correct soil and fertiliser, is carefully transplanted inside a bundled ball of specialised moss and wrapped with string.

Thankyou for visiting my blog. Click on the BACK & NEXT buttons below to keep on 'hopping' and visit the rest of the Creation Station Design Team blogs and their fabulous creations.
You can leave a comment - I love reading them, and I will reply in turn. And leave a comment on the other blogs too. They make us smile. Have a fantastic day. D x

Amazing Birthday - Colour Challenge Global Design Project #gdp029

| on
09:54
Today I have for you my creation for the Global Design Project #gdp029 'Colour Challenge'. And I'll be honest, I was challenged with this colour combo.
I felt less was more when thinking about how to tackle this Challenge, and I am happy with my result. Thankyou, Bruno!

And my final cards - yes, I was on a roll and made two.
I found the 'Amazing Birthday' stampset on my shelf, and decided this would be a perfect set to use.
The 'HAPPY' sentiments were fussy cut and placed onto the striped banner using 'Stampin' Dimensionals'. And I finished the 'BIRTHAY TO YOU!' by using the 'Washi Label Punch'.
The colours are quite masculine, however the touch of gold from the 'Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Brush' and the 'Gold Foil' stars soften the overall look. You could use these cards for anybody & everybody, and it's always a great opportunity to make a couple of cards to keep in your stash.

*Dimensions for my notecards:
Whisper White cardstock cardbase 20cm x 10cm (score at 10cm)
  (7 7/8" x 3 15/16")
Bermuda Bay & Tangelo Twist mat 9.5cm x 9.5cm (3 3/4" x 3 3/4")
Whisper White mat 9.2cm x 9.2cm (3 5/8" x 3 5/8")
The left over Whisper White cardstock is a perfect amount to stamp your banners & sentiments for both cards.

Thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog and I hope to have inspired you to make some fun Birthday notecards? You can join in on the fun of this Challenge and see what you come up with - check the GDP Schedule here
You are more than welcome to leave me a comment. I love to hear from you.
Have a 'Happy' day. D x

Oh, I nearly forgot to tell you... I had a 'Special Mention' from last weeks GDP #028 'Case the Designer Challenge'. Some worthy winners and other Special Mentions too. So happy and thankyou GDP Design Team. Mwah!
